Magic - The Love Divine

Words are such a powerful medium they stretch the horizons of imagination. Fear contracts the known and expands the unknown into a void. Space loses meaning as the 'fear' emotion fills this void. It distinguishes known from unknown and creates such a force within to ensure control so as to bring about a certain predictability to circumstances. The unknown is feared greater still and this void is replaced with belief where predictability and comfort is at its best and this 'state' is christened Heaven. Working backwards the predictability is pushed into rituals and religion is framed to work the mind into accepting patterns and shunning anything that hints towards unpredictability. Words. ...words ...those magical sounds that is filled with choicest meanings so as to let the mind unravel the frontiers of imagination to include the void with a presence. A presence christened - 'Love'. Love is as usual a misunderstood word. Love given is much more meaningful th...

i am I

While the search continues In events and expectations Strengthening beliefs and weakening a few The search for that entity Is most feverish when The result is one between Life and Death It is not always That Death looms The organism wilts And the desires die midway But then life goes on For some more time With Death not hurrying  beside Yet holding on the slippage if time  Come what may in my search For that One Truth in my greed  Power control and wealth Sought in the name of God Are poured upon volumes As the world's history My search though had knocked upon Wise ones with beards and a few without Yet life points only in one direction Which I've failed to look at all along While breath that falls up and down And the body seems to dance  The mind for that moment stays Within the skin of who I claim I am That burst of life that expands as I inhale That shot of energy that pours out after  That which I sought plays the dance  ...

Children playing in the mind

Children make the world an exciting place to be ... logic and repetition is replaced with exotic sounds, random limb movements and facial expressions so vivid that for those moments time seems to stand still as past  and future merge into the here and now And then the brain chugs for a few seconds filling in the train as choo choo, birds tweet tweet, cars honk honk ..so on Until the fear of instability cranks the engine into a statistical nightmare of supposedly useful information and led screens blinks with messages Reality... it seems is divided into moments of the present and desires for a future of peace and tranquility, wealth and power. The powers of imagination vs sheer innocence Snap....

Way of the Boddhisattva

May I be a guard for those who are protectorless, A guide for those who journey on the road; For those who wish to go across the water, May I be a boat, a raft, a bridge. May I be an isle for those who yearn for landfall, And a lamp for those who long for light; For those who need a resting place, a bed, For all who need a servant, may I be a slave. May I be the wishing jewel, the vase of plenty, A word of power, and the supreme remedy. May I be the trees of miracles, And for every being, the abundant cow. Like the great earth and the other elements, Enduring as the sky itself endures, For the boundless multitude of living beings, May I be the ground and vessel of their life. Thus, for every single thing that lives, In number like the boundless reaches of the sky, May I be their sustenance and nourishment Until they pass beyond the bounds of suffering. ~ Shantideva

Words are magical

You are the essential Truth that you seek. You are the goal. Tat Twam Asi There are no steps in the way. For our understanding we imagine steps. There is only unfolding. Granthis are knots in understanding. As these knots are removed clarity in thought emerges. .... You can only go with flow Its def comforting to imagine that you could have a plan but truth is even a dogs behaviour or the ruffle of leaves speak volumes to the heart in search of Truth

Blessed Mind

Long have I cursed my mind The tumultuous flow of thoughts The deep longings for objects The thirsts for fulfilling lusts calls The hatred bred in misunderstandings The sorrow of imagined loss Some ignoramus pointed at the mind And I the fool followed I... I ... naan ...moi.... The seeker that itself is the sought ... Clarity. .. what a fool I've been The mind is a tool A beautiful device of joy An infinite treasure trove of thoughts A keeper of life's longings A lover of treasured moments A book of life's learnings A magical wand for living in joy What a great gift of life The thing which I thought was my curse Is the greatest blessing of my existence I can differentiate myself from everything else And still belong to the world of things I can divinize the moment and the place Else I can see the Divinity in All All and All and All in me I am but Truth in All that is to see Oh. . If not for this blessed mind I offer thanks to All that is I know ...

Profound and Subtle

The ancient masters were profound and subtle. Their wisdom was unfathomable. There is no way to describe it; All we can describe is their appearance. They were careful As someone crossing an iced-over stream. Alert as a warrior in enemy territory. Courteous as a guest. Fluid as melting ice. Shapable as a block of wood. Receptive as a valley. Clear as a glass of water. Do you have the patience to wait Till your mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving Till the right action arises by itself? The master doesn’t seek fulfillment. Not seeking, not expecting, She is present, and can welcome all things. ~ Lao Tsu

Truth and illusion

I would like to imagine myself within this force field covered by layer over layer of powerful energy that I could control. That would be possible to achieve feats that I wouldn't have been able to do for several lifetimes. Do those amazing things that would leave the future in awe. The power to control that which I create. That would put me in a position so great the there would be none other than me so powerful Quite childish actually. .... Thoughts that defined me as special as separate from everything else known. Until you realize there is that opposite word. . The Unknown That word is associated with fear The more these thoughts wander the more there is one certainty. The I that I so passionately use is just a collection of my thoughts. My thoughts as memory and my imagined future. While the body that I so cling to as who I am is just an energy field I associate my thoughts to be centered on this field. Why I even use this right in doing this exercise of jotting down these...

Want flowers and fruits but not trees for they spoil their house. Someone told us. .. take away those plants they breed the mosquitoes. ... what the. ..? No snakes no elephants no tigers they are best left in the cage. No work too cause the govt should give me free What are we coming to?

I WISH YOU ENOUGH

1 A Peaceful Warrior / by vivek / 20 hours ago I WISH YOU ENOUGH Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter's departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: "I love you and I wish you enough." The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom." They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?" "Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?" "I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be fo...

The Best You've Got

First Sip / by CLAUDIA / 3 days ago People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. If you give the world the best you have, it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway. ~ Karl Menninger Tweet Visit website

We are so small

We cannot begin to see the realms beyond periphery These ghosts and odd anomalies that whisper of reality But modern man is so adept at skimming past the ocean's depths From shoal to shore but still convinced We can't feel the spinning underneath This globe rotates and no one perceives We're so small but man always believes We are the center, measure of all things If this is where we lie, some place between the matter and the mystified And only foolish minds would attempt to fit the universe inside Maybe all our lives are founded in the moments that escape our eyes And prudent hearts will find that there is beauty in the mysteries of life We are so small - Sean Derr from an fb comment

God

10 SEC READING the writer and God http://feedly.com/e/BVj3xcoI During his whole life, the Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis (Zorba, The Last Temptation of Christ) was an absolutely coherent man. Although he touched on religious themes in many of his books – such as an excellent biography of Saint Francis of Assisi – he always considered himself a confirmed atheist. Well, this confirmed atheist wrote one of the most beautiful definitions of God that I have ever come across: “We gaze with perplexity at the highest part of the spiral of force that governs the Universe. “And we call it God. “We could give it any other name: Abyss, Mystery, Absolute Darkness, Total Light, Matter, Spirit, Supreme Hope, Supreme Despair, Silence. “But we call it God, because only this name – for some mysterious reason – is capable of making our heart tremble with vigor. “And let there be no doubt that this trembling is absolutely indispensable for us to...
